My Theme Song

This is what I see as my theme song regarding my obsession with Australia. Oh crap. YouTube won't let me embed. I'll just have to do a link.

I haven't had time to do research this weekend and have nothing exciting to post. I'm going to do research today, and will hopefully have something halfway decent tomorrow. I watched the first episode of The Howard Years and will maybe do research on characters from that show.

I'm still SLOWLY reading Guns, Germs and Steel. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I'm finding it a bit boring. I loved the introduction, but then the stuff about the plants....well, it wasn't that exciting to me. I'm now on the parts about pets and I'm finding that a bit more interesting.

I'm still reading Commonwealth of Thieves. It's pretty good. It's been hard to read because I was surrounded by family. I found myself often reading the same paragraph over and over.

We have two more months until we go to Australia. I'm excited, but also nervous. I feel I'm not prepared enough. I know that's silly because we still have two months left. I need to write out directions to places so we know how to get there. I also had plans to do research on restaurants, so we wouldn't be just blindly eating at random places. But I think I might skip that...or leave it up to Tim.

Today is the one year anniversary of us landing in Sydney. Well, at least I think it is. The time change makes things confusing. We arrived on December 2, 2007. Today is December 1, 2008, but it's December 2 in Australia. I THINK it makes sense to see this day as the anniversary.

Well, that's my life. Thanks for reading ; )

Jack on our first day in Sydney.
