Parody of a Cover

The other day I ran into this parody of a cover of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know".

It's funny and very clever.

It's probably less funny if you haven't yet seen the particular cover.

So here ya go.

If you're thinking, parody?  Cover?   What the hell is Gotye?

Well, then you've been living under a rock.

Am I criticizing you for that?

Yes,  BUT with the acceptance of the fact that I too have sometimes lived under a rock...many times actually.

Our radio stations play Gotye's song way too much.  Sometimes, when I hear it, I want to hide under one of those rocks.  It's a nice song, but annoying in a way. At least I think so.

What about you guys?

Do you like the song?  Love it?  Sick of it?  Never liked it?

What do you like best, the original, the particular cover, another cover, or the parody of the particular cover?

Love it. But then I don't hear it often. The cover/parody is clever.

Fruitcake: Sometimes it can be nice under the rock.

Andrew: I was going to say maybe they play it less in Australia. But it's probably more the fact that our family currently listens to a lot of top 40 music.

What do you usually listen to? For example....in the car?

They're both good, aren't they ;)

HappyOrganist: Yep! Aren't you the one that introduced me to the cover?

Did you know about the parody??

yeah - I knew about the parody. I can't remember if I showed you that one also, or not.

There was one friend I specifically did not show the parody to b/c it might have been offensive to her. I'm pretty sure that wasn't you, though =) (it was Cindy)
