Pirate Islands, Kathy Vongsanga, Undeserved Acclaim, and Clever Lawyers

1. Dreamed about my almost-Australian cousins.

Jack and I sit at a table at a public place. My cousin's husband is there too, but we don't say hi to him. We don't acknowledge him in any way, and he doesn't acknowledge us.

Then Jack and I start talking about our plans of potentially moving to Australia.

Later I feel bad about not talking to my cousin's husband, and I feel weird about talking about our plans to move to Australia. I feel he's going to be offended and not happy we might be moving there, and I imagine my cousin will feel the same.  But then I'm surprised to hear from my cousin. She gives me suggestions about getting a job in Australia. She has three potential places I could work.

Tim might have been with us when we ignored my cousin's husband. I'm not sure. It's just I imagine, in real life, it would be more likely for Jack and me to be shy like that. It's hard for me to imagine Tim acting that way. But since this was a dream, and not real life...who knows.

2. Started watching an episode of Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji.

I don't love the show, but I do like it better than The Saddle Club.

3. Continued to read Nick Earl's novella, Welcome to Normal.  I don't find it too exciting, but I'm not totally bored by it. It's very literary—not much happening. It's more of a character study.

And there are some nice descriptions of pizza.

4. Started to watch another episode of Pirate Islands.

5. Started to watch an episode of Neighbours.

6. Wondered who in the world is Kathy Vongsanga.  She's often on the Neighbours IMDb episode credits as playing Margie Chan and is listed as being uncredited.  Is she an extra of some sort? Maybe a special extra?

7. Saw that Kathy Vongsanga is listed as being on 319 episodes between 2012-2015.

8. Went to the Twitter of Kathy Vongsanga. I'm pretty sure it's her, because she talks about Melbourne.

I suppose there could be multiple Kathy Vongsanga in Melbourne, but I doubt it.

9. Got idea from looking at Vongsanga's Twitter that she's into car racing.

10. Saw that Kathy Vongsanga recently had a baby.

She's getting her baby into the acting thing as well. Here's the news of that via Instagram.

11. Determined that most of Vongsanga's Tweets are links to her Instagram, and most of her Instagram posts are about her new baby and the car racing thing.

12. Read a comment on this photo of Vongsanga.  Someone says they're a fan of hers on Neighbours.

But who is she on Neighbours?!

13. Learned that the Vongsanga is into is Formula 1.

14. Looked at Instagram photo of Vongsanga with Neighbours people. They're all in Harold's, and Vongsanga is wearing an apron. So I'm going to conclude that she plays a Harold's employee.

15. Thought that maybe I spotted Vongsanga in the episode I'm watching.

I think she's there in the background.

16. Wondered if it's fun to be an extra on Neighbours. Or is it tedious and just fun for people to see themselves later on screen?

17. Wondered if most of the main stars of Neighbours are nice to the extras.

18. Wanted to slap Nick (Damien Fotiou). He badmouths Georgia (Saskia Hampele) to Karl (Alan Fletcher)—talks about her being unprofessional and self-absorbed. And when Karl questions Nick about the incident with Nick trying to get Georgia into bed with him, Nick labels that as him blowing off steam.

Karl went to talk to Nick about Georgia being suspended. He says he's surprised, because Georgia is such a good nurse. Georgia suspects that Nick has framed her, and that's why she's been suspended. With Nick talking so badly about someone who's usually held in high regard; and this is after he victimized her; it makes him look like the guilty party.

19. Wanted to hug Toadie (Ryan Moloney). He's being very good at the lawyer thing. He wants Karl to talk to people who worked with Nick in London. Karl argues that Nick had good references. Toadie reminds Karl that these references were hand-picked by Nick. But what about the people he didn't ask to write references? What would they say about Nick?

20. Liked the character of Nick in a cathartic way. For me, he represents those people who everyone else seems to adore, but I don't.  They might be charming or have some type of heroic career. Or they've done something very impressive.

And most of the time, they're NOT as bad as Nick. They're not evil. It's just they're not as wonderful as some people imagine.

21. Thought about Bill Cosby and how hard it must have been for his victims to see all the wonderful things said about him in the media.

22. Started to watch another episode of Pirate Islands. I have three left. Maybe I'll finish the show today or tomorrow.

23. Started watching yet another episode of Pirate Islands.

I think I'm watching more TV than usual today.

24. Had a QuizUp Lost question about Charles Widmore. Widmore was played by Alan Dale from Neighbours.

We've also seen Dale on Ugly Betty and Torchwood.

25. Remembered that Dale was born in New Zealand. I wonder if he has Australian citizenship.

26. Felt myself kind of getting into Pirate Islands.  The cliffhanger of the second to last episode was kind of exciting.  I'd watch the last episode tonight, but I'm tired and want to get to bed.

Pirates, Compliments, Honesty, and Snow

1. Watched an episode of Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji on my phone. Yesterday I finally downloaded the Hulu App.

2. Felt somewhat bored by Pirate Islands.  I don't think it's going to go down as being one of my favorite Aussie shows.

3. Started watching another episode of Pirate Islands.

4. Realized that Bobby on Home and Away reminds me of Tina on Coronation Street. I don't think they're very much alike in physical appearance, but I think they have similar personalities.

I'm trying to think of a way to describe their personalities—kind of tough, maybe? They're very good to their friends and hard on their enemies.  But even with their friends, Bobby and Tina are the type to refuse to put up with bullshit.

5. Dreamed about an Australian acquaintance.  We used to be friends, but we grew apart. I think this is because she's very socially active and very popular. But then I learn she's actually lonely. She belonged to many clubs, because she was trying to find friends for her and her children. But it never worked out for them.

6. Found something I wrote in a 2011 blog post  that I might not agree with anymore.

I talk about telling a friend we've gotten a compliment from another friend, and the friend responds by insulting us and/or questioning the other friend's judgement.  My feeling then was that we shouldn't rain on other people's parade.

But now it annoys me when people share compliments given to them by others. It feels like bragging to me—distasteful bragging with the underlying message that someone else likes this about me, so you should like it too.

I think in small degrees it's okay. But when it's excessive, it's annoying.

In my blog, I was referring to a time that I told my Texas friend that one of my Australian friends liked my singing. My Texas friend responded in a bitchy way—something along the lines of suggesting that my Aussie friend was lying.

I think part of my reason for telling the story was to brag. The other purpose was to vent. I had been stressed and bothered by the whole thing, because my Aussie friend seemed very impressed with my singing. I had sung often in the house without Tim ever saying anything positive. So for many years I had been confused. I felt I sang good, but since my husband never validated that, I guessed that I was delusional about my voice. Why wouldn't a spouse say to a talented wife, Wow! You have an amazing voice. I love your singing.

So my friend might not have been trying to insult my friend or my singing but instead might have been trying to defend my husband.

The funny thing is, I'm still confused about the singing thing. Some people seem annoyed by my singing. I've gotten insults from my brother-in-law; and Tim, and my dad has acted bothered by my singing. My Aussie friend, my mom, and my sister have given me compliments. My nieces have given me both insults and compliments; I don't know which is real.

I've whined and bitched to my dad and Tim about singing, and now they act quite supportive. I don't know if that's because they were stingy in the past with genuine compliments and now they're cleaning up their act. Or if they still think I'm awful at singing, but I've pressured them to say otherwise.

7. Felt weird about telling the above story, because I've done what I don't like—shared compliments I've gotten from others. But I've also shared insults. So, since there's a balance, maybe it's okay.

8. Read more of my 2011 blog post about compliments. I still agree with some stuff I said.

My feeling back then was that it's rude to share a compliment as a defense against a criticism. If my Texan friend said, I think you need to work harder on your high notes, it would be tacky to say, Well, my Australian friend thinks I'm a fantastic singer.

I still agree with my old opinion in that case.

9. Concluded that sharing compliments we receive from others is okay if done in small doses, not used as a defense against criticism, and we don't brag a lot in general.

10. Decided to read Welcome to Normal, a novella by Nick Earls. I downloaded it awhile ago on my Kindle, because it was free.

11. Saw that the story takes place in the US. The protagonist is visiting, though. I'm guessing that he's visiting from Australia.

12. Liked what I've read from the story so far. I think Earls does a good job of describing the excitement of being in a foreign country—one that you've seen in movies and television.

13. Started watching an episode of Neighbours.

14. Liked that Nate (Meyne Wyatt) is using binge-watching as treatment for post break-up depression.

I imagine it's a good way to deal with that type of sorrow.

I don't know this from experience, and I haven't read any research on it.

I'm just guessing.

I feel TV show addiction and/or video game addiction is a good way to distract ourselves from difficult and sorrowful times in life.  Really, I think it's about keeping ourselves busy and our mind focused on other things.

This may sound silly, but it also might provide a reason to go on living. We might not feel like being alive anymore, because the person we love most in the world has left us. But then maybe wanting to know if Juliet will end up with Jack or Sawyer will keep us wanting to continue with things.

15. Saw that Nate is also treating his post-break up depression by playing basketball with friends. That's probably helpful too.

16. Saw that Lauren (Kate Kendall) is dealing with husband-just-died depression by getting hugs from her former lover Brad (Kip Gamblin). This is probably NOT the best way to deal with depression.

17. Liked Lauren's advice to Brennan (Scott McGregor). He wants to deal with Matt's death by seeking revenge against Dimato (David Serafin).  Lauren tells him he should concentrate on those he loves rather than concentrating on those he feels anger towards.

I think that's probably the best response to loss via death. We could spend our energy feeling guilty about mistakes we made with the recently deceased, and we can spend our energy on feeling anger towards people who have wronged us and/or wronged the deceased. But in the end, it's probably best to spend our energy on loving the people we still have.

18. Started watching another episode of Pirate Islands.

I think some of the writing on this show is awful.

Maybe I'll think of it as B-movie type awful. Because then it won't seem so...awful.

19. Started watching another episode of Pirate Islands.

20. Read article that says it might snow in Queensland. I thought this was a once in a lifetime type thing. But no. The article says snow and/or sleet happens in Queensland every few years.

21. Learned from Lord Wiki that there was snow in Stanthorpe Queensland in June 2013.

22. Looked up Stanthorpe on Google Maps.  It's two hours south of Brisbane; and a bit over to the west.

Actually, it's three hours west of Byron Bay and just a little bit north of there.

23. Started watching another episode of Neighbours.

24. Felt disgusted with Sharon (Natasha Canning). She kind of reminds me of someone I know. And I actually like this person but not when she does the type of annoying thing that Sharon is doing.

What is Sharon doing?

She has this insistent need to come clean with Lauren about kissing Lauren's recently deceased husband.

Well, to be clear, Sharon kissed him before he became deceased. This isn't a necrophilia storyline.

Anyway....

Sharon and this person I know both A) seem to see themselves as being adorable B) are quite self-absorbed C) Are brutally honest even when it might be better to keep ones mouth shut.

It's like they have foot in the mouth disease except they don't realize or care that they've put their foot in their mouth.

Sometimes this attitude is actually charming—maybe in a Luna Lovegood kind of way. Other times I find it annoying.

25. Wondered if I sometimes act like Sharon and this person I know. I'm guessing I do to some degree.

26. Started to think that maybe I'm as bad as Sharon and this person I know. I'm starting to remember stupid things I've said or things that didn't seem to be well-received.

I was going to say I'm better and different, because I understood I said the wrong thing. But it's not like I spoke up and told the people I realized I said the wrong thing.  How do I know that this person, I know, doesn't also realize she's said the wrong thing. Maybe she too feels awkward about it but doesn't know how to take it back.

27. Felt brutal honesty and awkward confessions and questions can be lovely sometimes.  It really depends on the mood and audience.

But still. It's probably not a good idea to tell a recently widowed woman that you recently kissed her husband.

Read my novel: The Dead are Online

Funerals, Josef Brown, CJD, and Vegetarianism,

1. Dreamed about Paul Robinson from Neighbours. There's a person with mind-reading powers who can watch someone sleeping and get an idea of their dreams. The person watches Paul and comes up with the words "Hope" and "Cancer".

2. Had a dream inspired by Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji.  We're at a tourist attraction, and I'm trying to get my parents excited about the fact that where we are at is created by virtual reality.

I think the dream was also inspired by showing Melissa, my sister, Minecraft the other day. Jack and his cousin Darcy were building Starbucks together. I thought it was so cool that they were working together to create something on two separate screens. And I thought what they made within about an hour or two was pretty impressive. Melissa didn't seem overly impressed. I mean she said nice things, but it sounded forced.

3. Started watching an episode of Neighbours.

They're getting ready for Matt's funeral. It feels strange watching it, because we have a funeral this week.

4. Thought it was interesting to see all the different reactions to Matt's death. Toadie (Ryan Moloney) feels strange, because it was his text that Danni (Laura McIntosh) was reading in her car when she hit Matt. Susan (Jacki Woodburne) remembers that the first ceremony she did as a celebrant was Matt and Lauren's (Kate Kendall). Now she's doing her first funeral, and it's for Matt.

Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) feels odd about going to the funeral, since Matt died saving her husband's life. She's unsettled by the fact that if he didn't die, they'd probably be going to Brad's funeral instead.

And then there's Nick (Damien Fotiou). He sits there giving advice on how to avoid crying at the funeral. What a shit-head. Well, maybe I'm saying that, because I already know Nick is evil. But either way. What kind of person gives advice on how-not-to-cry at a funeral? What the hell is wrong with crying at a funeral?

5. Thought that these episodes of Neighbours kind of feel like a public service announcement against texting while driving.

It's timely for me, because my brother-in-law Judd was hit by someone who was busy texting. No one was killed, fortunately.

6. Felt Neighbours is going strong on the villain thing. There's two of them—Dimato (David Sarafin) and Nick, and they both make me so angry. I guess they'd qualify as villains that I love to hate.

I don't know if I love hating them, though.

Do I?

Maybe it is cathartic, in a way.

7. Started watching an episode of Pirate Island: The Lost Treasure of Fiji.

8. Tried to understand the premise of the show. Kids get sucked into a virtual reality game and find that the virtual reality game is real. Or it feels real. Does that mean it's some kind of alternate universe, and the virtual reality game was a type of door between the two worlds?

9. Considered that maybe the show is similar to something like Pleasantville—characters sucked into a fictional world that seems to be real.

10. Started watching another episode of Pirate Island.

I didn't like the show too much at first, but now it's starting to grow on me.

11. Saw from IMDb that Pirate Island: The Lost Treasure of Fiji was actually filmed in Fiji rather than Melbourne and Port Douglas like the earlier series.

12. Figured I will be posting this in a few days. Things are going to be kind of intense and busy this week, so I'm not sure I'll have enough material each day to do a blog post.

Maybe I'll post this at the end of the week. Or maybe in the middle?  We'll see....

13. Went to Radio Times, because I was very bored and wanted to see Coronation Street stuff. I ended up seeing Neighbours spoilers.  Well, it's spoilers for me, because I'm a few months behind.

Apparently, Paul and Naomi are going to be romancing each other.

14. Thought about how my blog might be full of spoilers for people watching Neighbours if they're behind me on episodes.

15. Decided it's pretty much impossible to have a blog dealing with television without providing spoilers, and it's almost impossible to read about your favorite shows on the Internet without encountering spoilers. The exception, to the latter, would be if you are totally caught up with the show.

16. Dreamed about Australia.  There was something about a museum I loved and regret about spending too much time in our apartment/hotel room.

17. Attended a funeral, and felt a little gratitude towards Nick and his not-crying-at-funeral advice.  Yeah, I thought the advice was stupid and cold-hearted. What's so bad at crying at funerals?

But there were moments at the funeral, we went to today, where I didn't want to cry. I'd be crying at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons.  The thing is, I couldn't really remember what Nick's advice was. It was something about the roof of your mouth. I just pressed my tongue to the roof of my mouth. I'm not sure if that was the trick or not. But I got distracted by thinking of Nick and struggling to remember the advice. That did the trick.

18. Found advice from one of Lord Wiki's relatives about stopping crying. I was right about Nick's advice. One of the suggestions is to press your tongue to the roof of your mouth. So maybe it really works, and it wasn't just about me being distracted.

19. Read scary news article about a man in Sydney who was diagnosed with Creuzfeldt-Jakob disease. It's one of the scary proton disease things. I'm not sure if it's the same thing as Mad Cow Disease. Or related?

I think they had a storyline about it on All Saints.

20. Found a medical page about the disease. It occurs in about one in one million people.

It's not Mad Cow Disease but related. Both conditions are part of a group called transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.  Also included with the group is Fatal Familial Insomnia.

FFI was also a storyline on All Saints.

21. Fascinated by what I read regarding diagnosing the disease. The only way to confirm CJD is by an autopsy or brain biopsy. But because diagnosing the patient doesn't help with treatment, the biopsy is discouraged. Plus, there's a risk to the surgeon—in terms of contracting the illness.

So if I'm understanding things correctly, the diagnosis is often made with a process of elimination.

Was this the case with the man in Sydney? Or did he get a brain biopsy?

22. Hoped the family and friends of Frank Burton (the man with CJD) have the strength to get through their difficult time.

23. Dreamed about being in a pool with crocodiles.

24. Consulted Lord Wiki about Josef Brown. Like his Neighbours co-star, Kip Gamblin, Brown is a dancer. And he too was on Dance Academy.  I don't remember him. being there.

Brown's big thing is playing Patrick Swayze's role in the stage production of Dirty Dancing.

If I'm understanding things right, Australia was first to turn the movie into a stage musical, and Brown was the first to do the Swayze role.

Now that Matt has died, maybe Brown will have more dancing time.

25. Saw from IMDb that Josef Brown was in thirteen episodes of Dance Academy. He played Patrick.

I'm guessing Patrick is a dance instructor?

26. Consulted Lord Wiki's cousin, who confirms that Patrick is a dance instructor.

27. Went to Josef Brown's official website.

28. Saw that Brown is passionate about vegetarianism. He wrote and produced a web series about the subject.

29. Watched first episode of At the Fork, the vegetarian propaganda film. It worked on me! Or at least it didn't make want me to stop being a vegetarian.

I did like the writing of the episode. The girl tries to talk to her parents about the environmental impacts of eating meat. Their response is that you can't believe everything you read. This is what we say when we don't like what the other person has learned. If we like what we're hearing, we're probably less skeptical.

But yeah. You can't believe everything you read. Nor can you fully believe everything you've heard or learned in school.

Nothing is absolutely guaranteed to be true.

30. Convinced by the second Josef Brown vegetarian propaganda film that everyone should become vegetarian.

And it makes me happy that we ate at a vegan ice-cream place this afternoon.

31. Felt annoyed that huge amounts of deli meat was bought for our last lake house weekend.

It's not enough for my family to eat meat, but there also must always be a surplus of meat provided.

Having this excessive meat is bad for our health, bad for the wallet, and bad for the environment.

32. Wondered if Melissa and I being vegetarian has even had any impact  on the amount of meat purchased. I'm doubting it. I'm betting that if one of us decided, in the middle of a meal, that we wanted to eat meat, there'd be enough there for us to eat.

What I mean is, I don't think my dad started buying less meat when we became vegetarian.

But I hope I'm wrong about that.

33. Felt a bit hopeless—wondering if the popularity of vegetarianism has brought upon any reduction in meat production.

Are grocery stores buying/selling less meat? Are restaurants serving less meat? Are factory farms mistreating and killing less animals?

34. Imagined a world where meat is an expensive rare delicacy, and the eaten animals are raised on idyllic farms.

35. Looked at an article about the meat industry.  They have a chart that shows the best and worst foods for the environment. The three worse are lamb, beef, and cheese! I'm not guilty for the first two, but am very guilty in terms of the third. I love cheese and eat it often. Although today I was tempted to get cheese on my veggie burger but decided not to. So I'll pat myself on the back for that.

36. Saw from chart that milk is low on the chart. So for some reason cheese is bad but milk is not.

Still, I don't think the lactating cows are given a lot of tender love and care, so I should cut down on ice-cream as well.

37. Felt disgust for people in the beef industry. Not only do they often provide a bad life for cows, but they also contribute to human health problems and cause a big carbon footprint.

So I'm not feeling a lot of love for Rockhampton Queensland right now.

38. Had fantasy about Rockhampton losing their reputation as being the beef capital of Australia and becoming the kingdom of garbanzo beans instead.

Read my novel: The Dead are online

Credits, Polygamy, Pirate Island, and Choices

1. Started watching an episode of Neighbours.

2. Saw that the credits have already been changed.  The pool scene with Nate (Meyne Wyatt), Brennan (Scott McGregor), and Chris (James Mason) has been changed to Nate, Brennan, and Tyler (Travis Burns),

3. Wondered about Matt (Josef Brown). I guess he's gone from the credits too. I didn't notice. Though I forgot where he used to be in the credits.

4. Went back to watch the credits again. I can't remember where Matt used to be.

5. Decided to watch credits from an old episode.

Matt was in the shot with Bailey (Calen MacKenzie) and Lou (Tom Oliver).

6. Wondered why Polygamy is seen as so horrible. Penny Wong doesn't like people suggesting gay marriage is going to lead to polygamy. Is this because she thinks polygamy is an awful and offensive thing? Or is it because it's simply not true that gay marriage leads to people wanting to do the polygamy thing.

7. Felt I said something wrong in my last post. I said polyamory wasn't traditional. Well, it's not traditional in our society. But I think it IS traditional in some societies. I don't think it's a new thing for the world.

8. Consulted Lord Wiki about polygamy. He cites several studies saying it's a bad thing.

So maybe I shouldn't be so okay with it.

Though I figure it doesn't have to be bad all the time. Maybe sometimes it would work?

9. Wondered if polygamy doesn't usually work, because it often occurs in sexist societies where women are seen as property. But if you had polygamy in a less sexist society, could it maybe turn out totally fine?

Does polygamy cause problems for gender equality or does gender inequality cause problems for polygamy?

Let's say Daniel (Tim Phillips) on Neighbours married Amber (Jenna Rosenow) AND Imogen (Ariel Kaplan) Wouldn't he treat them with love and respect?

Would there be some inequality, jealousy, and resentment?  Yes, of course!  But the same happens in any family. It happens with offspring. I have, at times, felt that my sisters have received favoritism, and I know they have felt the same about me. There have also been differences in how the grandchildren are treated and differences in how the son-in-laws are treated.

10. Started watching Pirate Islands.

11. Thought one of the actors on Pirate Islands looked like he could be related to Patrick Brammall.

12. Confused. I can't find the characters I'm seeing on the IMDb cast list. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong show?

13. Learned I was looking at the wrong show on IMDb.  The show I was looking at, on IMDb is from 2003. The show I'm watching is from 2007. I think it's a sequel to the first. It's called Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji.

14. Consulted Lord Wiki. He says yes, the 2007 show is a sequel to the 2003 one.

15. Saw that Saskia Burmeister plays Pirate Lily. Her name sounded familiar to me. I  looked her up on IMDb and was reminded that she was on Sea Patrol. She's the one who reminded me of the cupcake girl from the detergent commercial.

16. Found that the actor who reminds me of Patrick Brammall is named Kaine O'Keeffe.

17. Wondered if fans of Fringe often watch Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji; because John Noble is one of the stars. He plays a pirate.

18. Saw that Adelaide Clemens ,from Pirate Islands, was on Love My Way.   I think I remember her. She was (maybe) the friend of Ben Mendelsohn's son.

19. Started watching another episode of Pirate Islands.

20. Witnessed my mom and sister compete over who likes Simon Baker more. My sister was excited to see him on the back of a GQ magazine.

21. Thought that Pirate Islands might work better as a 90 minute movie rather than a thirteen episode TV show. I'm not really sure how the premise is going to provide enough material.

22. Thought about fireworks, and how Australia's big Firework night is New Years Eve.  But it's also the eve of Federation Day.

23. Had trouble empathizing and understanding homophobia and/or people who are against gay marriage.

Wondered if there would be something I'd be prejudice against that involved consenting adults and did not cause extraordinary harm.  I can imagine myself being grossed out by certain things. Maybe? But to want it to be illegal? Is there anything?

I'll have to think about that.

24. Wished people against gay marriage could imagine what the world would be like if laws were based on other people's personal morals and preferences.

For example, if laws were based on my views, eating meat would be illegal and all children would be unschooled.

Would people like that? Or would they rather be able to make their own choices?

Des Clarke, Unrequited Love, 30th Anniversery, and Fake Cancer,

1. Had a dream.  It's bedtime and I'm thinking about celebrity crushes. I have the idea that Kate Jenkinson is the kind of person that a lot of people have crushes on. I think of Kim Gygnall and decide that if I met him in real life, I'd probably develop a crush on him.

Before going to sleep, I feel compelled to follow my rule about reading one chapter of a book. The chapter I'm reading is titled "Drugs". It's about a woman who is trying to lose weight. Her method fails, so she decides to get into shape via weight-lifting. But then she learns that all the female weight-lifters she admires got that way by using drugs.

2. Dreamed I was in an Australian comedy. I don't remember it enough to explain it well, but it involved someone eating very old desserts. Maybe ice-cream? And we were trying not to get in trouble with the police. It was like we were trying to make ourselves look less bad than we were to the police, but instead we made ourselves look even worse than we truly were.

3. Dreamed that, I'm walking with two young Australians we know. I want them to come visit us in the US. So I whisper something to them— sort of like a subliminal message. I want it to influence their future decisions, but instead they jump on it at that moment.

I'm not positive, but I think what I whispered was chicken nuggets. Then they went into a cafe to maybe order the nuggets.

4. Read article about gay marriage bill in Australia. I don't fully understand it, but it doesn't seem very hopeful to me.

The good news is, there are eighteen people from the Coalition that support it. The bad news is, there are eighty-three that oppose it.

The thing is, there's a committee which decides the order that bills will be heard and debated in Parliament. The people in the committee right now are conservative and not supportive of gay marriage. To them, other things take priority.

I'm doubting gay marriage will be legalized while the Abbott government is in power.

5. Started watching some Neighbours.

6. Tried to find song played on Neighbours.

It's played while Imogen (Ariel Kaplan) is looking conflicted about Daniel (Tim Phillips) and Amber's (Jenna Rosenow) wedding. Some of the lyrics: Only God can forget all the bad things you've done...And you can't turn your back on the women you've become.

I'm not having luck finding it.

I think it's pretty, though.

7. Wondered if maybe it's Delta Goodrem singing, since she's guest-starring on the show.

I don't know her voice well enough to know if it's her or not.

8. Shocked and amazed and super excited! Des Clarke!  They have Des Clarke (Paul Keane) on Neighbours! He came back!  I didn't recognize him. I had no idea who he was until Paul(Stefan Dennis) said his name.

9. Thought that Paul Keane looks like a cross between Jason Segal and Dick York.

10. Learned that Paul brought Des to Erinsborough to scare Daniel (Tim Phillips)—weddings and marriage. He wants Des to talk about his own wedding fiasco.

I'm not sure if Neighbours began with the wedding or if that's just the first episode that was available to me on YouTube.  But that's where I came into the story. Des was about to get married, and the bride called off the wedding. From what I remember, Julie Robinson had something to do with that. She scared the bride away from marriage, because she had a thing for Des.

There was a stripper at the Buck's night. Daphne. She ended up moving in with Des. And then they fell in love.

11. Remembered there was another woman interested in Des; or at least she wanted Des to be a father to her child. The actress reminded me of Jennifer Aniston.

12. Saw Des telling the story to Daniel. The bride's name was Lorraine.

13. Excited. They showed a few flashbacks of the buck's night.

14. Thought that Paul Robinson reminds me of my dad in some ways. I've felt this way before, but I especially felt it in the scene where he lets Amber know that Imogen is in love with Daniel.

15. Annoyed at Amber's anger towards Imogen. She finds out Imogen is in love with Daniel and confronts her.

Yes, Imogen is in love with her best friend's fiancé; and that's not a great situation. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

It's not like Imogen pursued Daniel.

Well, she did kiss him once, but it was a temporary moment of insanity. She was very apologetic.

Imogen worked very hard to try to get over Daniel, and she tried very hard to support Amber and Daniel's relationship.

Maybe her only mistake was not confessing earlier when asked about her feelings for Daniel. But then again, bringing the love to the surface and out in the open might have caused a strain for Amber and Daniel's relationship. It might have been easier for everyone, if Imogen's feelings had remained a secret.

16. Imagined if Amber knew about Imogen's feelings, she'd be more careful about having Daniel and Amber spend time together.

On the other hand, if Daniel knew about Imogen's feelings, it might have made him start questioning things. Well, I have this one woman who loves me, and I love her. But now this other woman loves me...and well, I do enjoy spending time with her.

From some of my experiences, I have concluded that if someone has feelings for a person already in a relationship, it's best to keep it quiet. Just by speaking up, you might drive a wedge into the relationship. Or you might help an already existing wedge get larger.

Yes, it might be an ego boost to the object of your affection; but that ego boost might not be great for their already existing relationship.

17. Imagined I could find exceptions. For example, let's say someone is in a very horrible failing relationship. They're depressed, feel unloved, and seem suicidal. THEN it might be a nice idea to say, I just wanted to tell you I've been in love with you for the last five years.  Unless you know that the object of your affection is actually repulsed by you. In that case, you might make them feel worse.

18. Started watching an episode of The Librarians.

I'm going to try to finish the show today.

I don't know whether or not I'll keep season two and three on my to-watch list.

I think I'll take it off, unless I end up liking the show in the end.

I was going to take Kath and Kim off my list, but then towards the end it started to grow on me.

19. Thought that The Librarians had an interesting twist. I was surprised by it at least, but it could be because I wasn't paying close enough attention.

20. Started to watch another episode of The Librarians.

There are parts that I can relate to, but not in an amused way; more in a sad and uncomfortable way.

21. Started to like The Librarians a little more. I think the fifth episode was more interesting to me than the rest. Although it still didn't make me laugh. Or smile.

22. Started to watch the last  episode of season one of  The Librarians.

23. Realized that I'd probably prefer the storyline of The Librarians as a drama.

24. Finished watching The Librarians.

I'm glad to be done with it.

25. Used Random.org to pick my next show.

It's Pirate Islands.

26. Looked at the cast of Pirate Islands.

I don't really recognize any of the names.

Maybe Brook Harmon?  That sounds a tiny bit familar.

27. Saw that Brook Harmon was born in the US, and I know her from Dance Academy. She played Saskia, the sort of evil dancing teacher.

28. Saw that Brook Harmon is also one of the stars of season four of The Secret Life of Us.

29. Saw that the creator of Pirate Islands is Jonathan M. Shiff. Shiff is also the creator of The Elephant Princess, Ocean Girl, H20: Just Add Water, and Wicked Science.

30. Hoped that I'd like Pirate Islands better than The Librarians.

I think I will. I liked The Elephant Princess...most of the time.  I just got a little tired of seeing Richard Brancatisano acting like he has a migraine.

31. Saw that Pirate Islands was filmed in Melbourne and Port Douglas, Queensland.

32. Started watching another episode of Neighbours.

33. Went to the UK's Channel 5 page about Neighbours. They confirm that the first episode of Neighbours is the first one I saw. It's the one with Danny having a nightmare and Lorraine canceling the wedding.

34. Saw from Lord Wiki that Neighbours premiered on March 18, 1985. The episode I just started watching is the one from March 18, 2015. So, it's the big anniversary show.

I hope it's good.

35. Tried to remember Tom Ramsey. I'm seeing him now on the show. I think maybe I saw some of his old episodes. Maybe he was kind of difficult?

36. Had  my memory helped by Lord Wiki. Tom was dating a woman, and Shane Ramsey accidentally killed her in a car crash. I remember that. Then Shane had problems with driving for awhile, which was hard since he worked as a limo driver.

37. Took a break from Neighbours to do some stair-walking exercising. When I do this, I have Spotify pick a song from me. It chose "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked.

The song fits perfectly with the Amber, Imogen, and Daniel drama.

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl

In Wicked, Elphaba is the one that's not that girl. But in the end, she is. She ends up with Fiyero; and Glinda is left behind.

Will the same happen with Imogen? Will she end up with Daniel?

38. Thought it was a shame that Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce, and Jason Donovan aren't appearing for the anniversary.

Or maybe they are, and I just don't know about it yet.

Maybe I'll get a fun surprise.

39. Started watching another episode of Neighbours.

40. Felt bad for Imogen and Daniel. They're stuck in a well without food and water.

41. Thought that Amber has a little-girl kind of look, and she also kind of looks like an expensive doll.

42. Smelled the Russian Nesting doll that Jack got at the Sydney puppet store to see if it still smells like cherries.

It does.

43. Started watching another episode of Neighbours.

I want to see Imogen and Daniel get rescued. Though maybe that's not going to be until many episodes later.

44. Figured that Josh (Harley Bonner) comforting Amber is going to turn into sex, and that's how Amber ends up pregnant.

45. Loved the character of Nick (Damien Fotiou) in a cathartic way. He's so awful but makes himself out to be a hero, because he does important cancer research.

It reminds me of behavior I've encountered from certain people. They do good things, but then imagine that this gives them an excuse to treat friends and family like crap.

46. Wondered if I ever was a little shit back when I did volunteer work for Cystic Fibrosis. I probably was at times. I think I had that belief. Girl doing charity for seriously ill children=definitely good person.

I don't think I was that bad, though. I definitely wasn't evil like Nick.

I was probably over-focused to the point of being annoying, and I took on the attitude that there's no cause more important than fighting CF.

I think a lot of people, passionate about a cause, become that way. It's like Fight Breast Cancer! Fight Breast cancer!  Never mind that there are tons of other cancers and awful diseases out there.

47. Confused about Paul Robinson's leukemia. Is that for real? Or is Nick faking the whole thing?

I just re-watched the scene with Nick typing on the blood chart thing. I can't tell if he's recording the blood count levels or changing them.

48. Figured out that Paul's cancer is probably faked. Because earlier Nick was complaining that curing cancer wasn't important enough for Paul— when Karl (Alan Fletcher) explained, to Nick, that Paul does things that benefit Paul. So now Nick has made cancer a personal thing for Paul.

49. Disgusted by Nick's evilness. He's planning to give Paul chemotherapy, even though Paul is healthy.

I've heard of people faking their own cancer. But this is new to me—someone deliberately leading someone else to believe they need cancer treatment.

50. Hoped Paul would be smart enough to get a second opinion.

51. Forgot to mention that I started watching another episode....

And now I'm going to watch another one.

I'm majorly binge-watching today.

52. Wondered what's going to happen to Matt (Josef Brown)

I know he's going to die. But how?

The Hulu description says it has something to do with him kissing Sharon Canning (Natasha Herbert). I'm having a hard time figuring that one out.

53. Saw what happens to Matt. He didn't die from kissing Sharon. What happened is he was talking about Sharon to Brad (Kip Gamblin). A car came, and Matt heroically pushed Brad out of the way.

Read my novel: The Dead are Online

John Noble

I'm betting that John Noble is an actor.

The other day I remembered adding all these actors to the list. I found them on some website, and I added them all on the evening of 21 August.

I can't remember which website it was.

My goodness. I am totally blown away in surprise again. John Noble is in Fringe. He's the scientist guy. I had no idea he was Australian too.

Noble has the same birthday as Jack....August 20th. And he was born in the same year as my mom; 1948. He's fourteen days older than her.

He was born in Port Pirie, South Australia. I've heard of that, but don't know exactly where it is. I'm going to look it up on Google Maps....

It's about four hours north of Adelaide.

I'm looking at Ellen Street, in Port Pirie, on Street View now. It looks pretty cool. There's a post office with cool architecture, and then a station to the left. I'm not sure if it's a fire station, police station, or some other kind of station.

Lord Wiki doesn't have much to say about Noble. One thing that looks important is that Noble is not just an actor. He's also a theater director.

From 1987-1987, he was the Artistic Director of the Stage Company of South Australia. And from 1997-2000, Noble was the head of drama at Brent Street School of Arts.

Now I shall move onto IMDb.

In 1988, Noble was in an Australian horror movie type thing called The Dreaming. It involves Aborigines, curses, and weird dreams....TOTALLY something that would interest me.

Noble plays a doctor.

The movie was filmed in various places in South Australia.

Unfortunately, I can't find much about the movie. An IMDb user provides a small amount of information. T-birkhead says it's about a curse that's unleashed when whalers attack Aborigines. It also involves archaeologists.

In 1989, Noble was in A Sting in the Tale. It was an Australian political movie. Noble played the Prime Minister's minder. What's a minder?

This website has some information about it. What I'm getting is that it's an adviser, one with the task of taking care of the Prime Minister, making sure he looks and does okay. It sounds like a personal servant in a way.

The tagline for A Sting in the Tale is, Australia's First Female Prime Minister? Though the person listed as Prime Minister in the credits is male. Maybe it's about an election?

The movie, like the last one, was filmed in South Australia. I guess Noble didn't get to travel a lot for his career in the beginning.

In 1990, there was another South Australian movie. This was Call Me Mr. Brown. Noble did not play Mr. Brown. He was Sergeant.

Actually, this movie was filmed in both South Australia, and Sydney. It's about a guy who steals money from Qantas. Here's an article about the guy the movie is based on.

I can't find any videos for the movie, but I did find a song Call Me Mr. Brown. It's a cute little country song.

In 1993, Noble was in The Nostradamus Kid. Noah Taylor was the star.

Lord Wiki says it's about a Seventh Day Adventist Boy who believes the world is about to end. Before it does, he wants to have sex with the Pastor's daughter.

I don't think John Noble has a big part in the movie.

In the 1990's, Noble did various one time guest appearances on TV shows. I'm not going to go into those.

In 1999, he was in an Australian science fiction TV movie; Airtight. The movie is about the earth running out of air. Uh oh.

Marshall Napier is in it, and there's also an American actor from Another World.

In 2000, Noble did another Australian science fiction TV movie. This was Virtual Nightmare. I can't find much about it. The title sounds interesting.

Also in 2000, Noble did a lesbian thriller called The Monkey's Mask. Abbie Cornish, Kelly McGillis, and Deborah Mailman are in it. Those are the names I recognize.

Here's a video about the film. I guess it's a trailer. I don't think I saw John Noble. I may have missed him, or failed to recognize him.

In 2002, Noble was in another TV movie; Superfire. I think this one was American.

It was co-written by Douglas Preston. He wrote one of my favorite books; Jennie. It's a beautiful books, but incredibly sad. Now I'm seeing there was a Jennie TV movie. How did I miss that? YouTube has the movie. I'm afraid to watch it. What if it's really bad, and ruins the book for me?

I'm watching just the end. I want to see if it's the same as the book. It turns out this is a Disney movie, so I'm doubting it.

Yeah. They've totally Disneytized it. I'm sure the book is much better.

Anyway, back to Superfire. It's about fire.

Here's a scene. John Noble isn't in it, but that girl is from Dead Like Me.

Next we have another American TV movie; The Outsider. This one also starred Naomi Watts. It's a western-romance. Oh. And it was filmed in Queensland.

Here's some scenes from the movie. I'm not sure if we'll see Noble.

The movie is based on a romance novel written by Penelope Williamson. The plot deals with very religious people, and sheep.

I'm seeing blood in the snow. That's kind of gross.

I should probably search for a part with John Noble.

I'm too lazy. I'm going to move on.

Noble was in Lord of The Rings. He played Denethor. But I guess he was only in the extended version?

Here's a clip. That other guy is David Wenham, isn't it?

Lord Wiki says that the movie version of Denethor is much different then the book version. The movie turned him into a much more tragic figure. Yeah. He looked pretty tragic in that clip. It's sad.

Okay. I'm getting it now. Wenham plays Denethor's son. In the book AND movie, Wenham's character is the brother that is not Denethor's favorite. His favorite son had died. So that's what I was seeing in the scene. Denethor was having visions of his dead son.

I'm unsure whether or not that scene came from the first movie. I'm confused.

Oh! Noble was in four episodes of Young Lions. I knew I had written about that show recently, but forgot which actor was in it. It's Anna Torv, Noble's co-star of Fringe. So they've worked together before....probably. I mean there' s a chance they never had scenes together. But if not, maybe they mingled at the catering table or something.

Here are some scenes. I see Anna Torv.

Ah! There's John Noble. He appears at 7:10. He's talking about a guy named Bill Martin. Supposedly, Martin is a killer. I wonder if that's true or not.

In 2003, Noble was in the sequel to Lord of the Rings. It looks like this time, he made it into the regular movie, and was not just in the extended version.

In 2004, Noble did an Australian-American TV movie called The Mystery of Natalie Wood. Noble played a director. He's very low in the credits, so his part might have been small. He played an American actor-director named Irving Pichel. Lord Wiki says Pichel was one of those Hollywood people blacklisted by Hollywood.

Wait. Crap. We have to majorly back up. Like usual, I missed a TV show. I gotta get better about these things.

Starting in 1998, Noble was on All Saints. He played Dr. John Madsen. IMDb says he was in 32 episodes between 1998 and 2004. TV.com classifies Noble's role as being recurring.

Let's get back to our place in the timeline. In 2004, we also have Fracture. It's a New Zealand movie. Lord Wiki says the movie is about a young mother who has to deal with the fact that her brother broke a woman's neck in a burglary. That would be such a sad situation. I don't think it's often dealt with in books and movie. Or maybe it's just something I don't encounter. I don't read a whole lot of crime stuff. But how would it feel if someone you love was convicted of a horrible crime?

In 2006, Noble was in the horror movie Voodoo Lagoon. This film website says it's about college students who get lured into holidaying on a remote island. It ends up the guy who lured them is some wicked voodoo practitioner. I wonder if Noble plays the evil guy.

Here's the trailer. I see Noble at :39.

Even though the movie was made by a British film company, and was filmed in Australia, I hear a lot of American accents. Although it's not like the trailer has a ton of talking.

The guy at 1:28 sounds a little Australian...maybe.

I'm not sure what Noble's accent is supposed to be. It's like a horror movie character accent.

Noble was in Running Scared. His character's name was Ivan Yugorsky. Is that Russian?

Well, Lord Wiki says there's a Yugorsky Peninsula in Russia.

The plot of the movie involves dirty cops, guns, abusive stepparents, and the Russian mob.

Here's the trailer. I think that's noble at about 1:15.

One of the actors (Cameron Bright) is from the Twilight movies. He plays Alec. I'm not sure who that is. From Google, I'm getting that he's part of the...what do you call it? Those Italian vampires.

Ah! The Volturi. Here we go. Lord Wiki's cousin provides more information. Alec is Jane's twin. Jane is the one played by Dakota Fanning.

In Running Scared, Cameron Bright plays a kid who kills his stepfather. I think John Noble plays his step-uncle.

Noble was on Home and Away in 2006. He played Dr. Helpman. From what I see on this Home and Away forum, he was not exactly a good guy. He got in trouble for sexual harrasment.

Also in 2006, Noble did a Jewish-related movie called One Night with the King. It's about Esther, the Purim hero. Purim is the holiday where a story is read, and everyone makes loud noisemaker noises when the villian (Haman) is mentioned. It's also the holiday where Jews eat Hamentashen. Those are pretty yummy.

Noble plays Prince Admantha. I tried to google him, and just got information about the movie. Maybe he was added to the story? Or maybe I'm not digging deep enough.

Here's the trailer. I think it's cool they made a movie out of the story. I wonder if it's any good.

Lord Wiki says the movie generally got bad reviews. But the American Biblical Society liked it. I wonder how it was perceived by Jewish groups.

In 2007, Noble was in the series Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji. He had one of the main parts, it looks like. There were only thirteen episodes. I can't tell if it was a miniseries, or if it was an unsuccessful show that was pulled off the air. The plot sounds a bit like Jumanji, but instead of a board game you have a video game. Or maybe I should say it's like Pleasantville, but instead of getting sucked up in a TV Show, the kids get sucked up into a pirate video game.

I think it would be awesome to get sucked up into a fiction world....as long as I knew I could get out in a week or so.

Lord Wiki says the show was a sequel to a past show, just called Pirate Islands.

Noble was in two episodes of 24...day 6. Does that mean it's season 6? Has that show really been on that long?

Noble appeared in the hours between 5-7 pm; dinner time.

He played Anatoly Markov. IMDb says he's a shady, corrupt Russian consulate operating with terrorists via L.A. Lord Wiki's cousin says that Markov gets his finger cut off by Jack Bauer. I guess the show supports torture. I wonder if it's favored by right-wing people.

I just googled and there are a lot of blogs/articles about the subject. Here's one of them. It seems it IS often well-liked by right-wing people. And Lord Wiki says the same thing. It's popular with the conservatives, and the creator of the show is a Republican.

Still....not all fans of the show are right-wing. Tim's very left-wing, and he used to love the show. Although he did get tired of it. Maybe all the right-wing stuff started to bother him.

In 2008, Noble started working on Fringe. He plays Dr. Walter Bishop, a fringe scientist. I'm going to read the character description that Lord Wiki provides. I'm curious about what's been going on with this guy. Some of it I saw in the episode or two we saw. I'm getting some memory twinges.

Bishop worked for the government as a fringe scientist. Then an accident happened in the lab. He was convicted of manslaughter, and put in an institution. Well, he was supposedly using students as lab guinea pigs.

Here's something fun. Bishop had parts of his brain removed, and implanted into other people. This was to remove information about a dimension gateway. Maybe that's the alternate universe thing? The people with the brain transplant go insane, but they're okay again once the brain tissue is removed. I am LOVING this.

I guess Bishop is a bit nuts, but when he gets back his brain tissue, he's sane. Well, Lord Wiki says he's temporarily sane. I guess they don't put the stuff back in permanently.

I gotta start watching this show. I'm intrigued by the alternate universe stuff. Lost, which has one or two of the same creators as Fringe, also deals with alternate universes.

I've been thinking of alternate universes lately, and I think it's the one science fiction/supernatural thing that would totally explain my life. I can't say I like the idea though. I prefer reincarnation, spirits, and all that kind of fun stuff. I guess there could be both. Maybe?

Anyway, alternate universes could explain:

A) Why I feel an instant bond or connection with certain people....or why I feel an aversion to other certain people. Maybe in another life, I have a huge relationship with them.

B) It could totally explain my Australian obsession. Maybe in an alternate universe, I AM Australian. Or maybe those I'm close to, in another universe, ended up in Australia. So this obsession is my way of finding them again. My Australian obsession has also brought me some American friends. I'm not sure how that would fit in, but it could.

C) I get really bad feelings about various things....like I'll see a word or an image....something on TV. I'll feel a horrible sense of dread. Fortunately, these things rarely play out to be something scary. But maybe they're thoughts seeping in through experiences in an alternate universe.

D) My meaningless psychic dreams. I sometimes have psychic dreams, but they're usually incredibly trivial. I can't imagine they're there for some deep purpose, like Allison Dubois' dreams on Medium. Maybe random memories are just leaking through.

I've seen or read stuff that says every time we make a decision, an alternate universe is created. Maybe it was an episode of Outer Limits. That's mind boggling. I feel it could be true.

I still prefer reincarnation. I like imagining that I feel a connection to people because in a past life we were best friends or something.

Anyway, I should really start watching Fringe. It sounds like something I'd like.

I just went to pee, and while I was on the toilet....I didn't sing this time. But I did do some thinking. I think the Jane Roberts' Seth books deal with the alternate universe idea.

Yeah. Lord Wiki says I'm right. He says the books deal with a concept called the Many-worlds interpretation. He's now reminding me of various fiction things that use the concept.

There's Stephen King's Darktower series. I think Lost was heavily inspired by that. The whole series of Sliders was about Parallel universes. Charmed had a few episodes. I remember those. Well actually, I think they used the alternate world/time travel theme several times.

There are tons on the list. I'm not going to name them all.

Here's a scene from Fringe.

Wow. This is full of suspense. So far I don't see Noble, but I'm enjoying Anna Torv.

Here's Noble. He appears at 3:10.

The man that appears at 4:38 is also on Lost.

I'm looking at the official site of the show. It looks like season two just ended. Maybe I'll catch up via YouTube, and Lord Wiki. Then I can watch season three. Maybe it will replace Lost for me, although I already have Flashforward as a replacement. I was considering V, but I don't much like that show.

Fox has the full episodes, but I'm doubting it will work on my computer. My computer is a bit outdated.

Wait. It's working! Cool.

Although I just remembered I also have True Blood to watch soon. I get stressed out if I have too many shows to watch. I feel way overwhelmed. Well, I'll just watch a little here and there to get caught up. If I like it, I'll watch season 3. When does that start?

Lord Wiki says it will begin in Autumn (Northern Hemisphere version) 2010. So that's good. True Blood's season three should be gone by then. I'll just have FlashForward, Fringe, and Medium. I can handle that.

Enough about my TV schedule. I'm asking Lord Wiki about fringe science. I thought it was the same as pseudoscience, but he says it's different. Both sciences are controversial and often rejected by the mainstream. But fringe scientists adhere more strictly to the scientific method. I think it's open to interpretation, though. There's that book I read....The Conscious Universe. It talks about how parapsychologists will use the scientific method, statistics, etc....all that stuff that is needed for science to be science. Yet it's still rejected by the scientific community, and/or it's held to much more rigorous standards and expectations.

Let me get back to Noble's filmography.

In 2009, he did a voice in the video game The Saboteur. Lord Wiki says it's a World War II thing.

In 2010, Noble is going to be in the movie Risen. I thought it was a horror-thing, but it's not. It's a sport biography.

Here's John Noble's official site. They list some of the plays he's been in. And it might have other stuff that people might want to look at.

I'm going to watch a couple of interviews and then quit. I have Sims 3 now! Tim got a new computer.

Here's something from the Los Angeles Fox network. The news guy says Americans love Australian actors. Okay. Then why don't we let them keep their Australian accents? What's the point? I mean I do understand that actors like to fake accents. It's part of acting....playing someone that you're not. But I think it should be a once-in-awhile thing. I think Australian actors should bless us with their Australian accents. It should be, Cool. Did you hear Rachel Griffith's American accent? I'm impressed. She imitates us perfectly....rather than Rachel Griffiths is Australian? What? I had no idea!

Noble says that in America, actors get more attention from fans. I wonder if that's true. I wonder if we're a bit more crazed here. To my credit though, I saw actors when we lived in New York. I never bothered them. I just looked, enjoyed, and then went about my way. Tim saw Jorge Garcia at the grocery store in Hawaii. I was very proud of him, because he didn't approach him. He said the reason he didn't was because he couldn't remember the actor's name. But I said it's good he didn't. The guy was grocery shopping. I don't think people should be pestered in their real life day-to-day business. I mean maybe if you're on an elevator with someone, you can say something brief....or if they buy something at your store. I love your show, by the way. But I don't think it's nice to attack someone with gushing or ask for their autograph. That's just my personal opinion. If an actor is at a work related thing, then I think it's totally fine to approach them....like a convention or something. For example, if we saw Jorge Garcia on the set of Lost, and he was taking a break....then I think it would be okay to go up to him. We could act like crazed fans, and I wouldn't feel guilty. I think that's different from bothering someone as they're shopping.

This is nice. In the interview, Noble says that Dr. Bishop is his dream character. That's great. I like his character too. And I'm glad he likes his character.

A YouTube user says this about the interview: It's interviewers like this that result in the rest of the world concluding that Americans are as dumb as dog shit. I might agree with him. The interview grates on my nerves. Although I think I've seen Australian morning shows that are just as bad. It's just this certain style of interviewing. I find it hard to tolerate.

Anyway, I'm going to quit here and see what Jack's up to. He says he's learning Japanese. I've been pushing him to do this since he likes Nintendo so much. Maybe I've finally gotten through to him. Although I think our Hawaii friends probably deserve most of the credit. Alex (who Jack adored) is fluent in Japanese.

So...that's cool. If Jack actually learns Japanese, maybe I'll learn too.

OR....you know what would be an awesome language to learn. Hawaiian! And I still really want to learn an Aboriginal language. I'll probably never learn any language, because I can't stick to one thing. Maybe I should just learn a little of each language. That's probably what's best for me.
